The dramatic visual effects of the wonderful double page spreads in this book tell the delightful story of how Marvin sets out to grow the tastiest tomatoes in town – and succeeds! Marvin has much to contend with from his jeering bother and sister but he has the last laugh when, helped by a magic growing song, his tomato becomes a world beater. From the same illustrator as the wonderful Stripy horse.
Lovereading comment:
Marvin is very little and his brother and sister tease him about being so titchy, so when they enter a tomato growing competition, his brother and sister tell him his tomato will be titchy too. But with a little bit of magic and a special song, Marvin’s tomato plant begins to grow completely out of control - in fact you’ll find it growing out of the pages! Can Marvin grow the biggest tomato and win the competition? A lovely story that’s not to be missed.
In the dark town of Grislygust a competition is under way - The Great Grislygust Grow-off. Marvin plans to grow the tastiest tomatoes in town but his beastly brother Boris an his poisonous sister Prunella make fun of him. 'You're a titchy weed, Marvin, and your tomatoes will be tiny too!' But Marvin is determined to prove everybody wrong and soon his competitors will find themselves in big trouble.
