Walter is a most unusual boy in many ways but especially because he can talk backwards and mostly because he uses his Noitangami. Helped by grandfather, Walter travels back to 1969 and the great moon landing to find out exactly what really happened. A cheery adventure with the fun – or irritation – or learning how to read words backwards.
Walter Speazlebud intends to visit the Moon. Not when he’s grown up; not even with the next NASA mission. No, Walter intends to use his power of Noitanigami (‘imagination’ to those of you who sadly lack the ability to spell, talk and travel backwards). With the help of gutsy Annie Zuckers and gentle Levon, Walter is going to travel back in time to 1969 to prove that the Moon landing happened. So what if the Moon’s surface looks like the Nevada desert? So what if Neil Armstrong botched his line (Shouldn’t it have been ‘one small step for a man, one giant leap for Mankind’?)?
David is a music supervisor for film, a songwriter, and a former music journalist and arts television producer. Like Walter Speazlebud, he speaks and writes backwards effortlessly – and has even been known to make people go backwards. He has a high profile in Ireland for this talent, thanks to appearances on TV and radio, and hugely popular amongst schools and libraries. He is often stopped in the street by people asking him to talk backwards.
