"A book to share with all the friends you have and for all the friends you’ll make"
Making friends is one of the most formative experiences for little children and it can sometimes be difficult or worrying for them.
Daniela Sosa’s joyful, reassuring picture book explains that there are all sorts of friendships, including some that might not work, and that finding friends is nothing to feel anxious about; that even if you feel like you’ll never make a friend, you just have to look closer at those around you.
Each double page shows us a different friendship, and different children in all sorts of situations making friends, and occasionally falling out too. Beautifully depicted in Sosa’s warm, detailed and atmospheric illustrations, the children are immediately recognisable and real, as are all the situations.
It’s a lovely book to prompt conversations and encourage discussion, and an important one to share.
