There’s monstrous fun to be had in this raucous picture book! Sisters Molly, Amy and Lola are bored; Mum’s busy so sends them to Dad who warns the three, ‘bored children get monsters to play with!’ Sure enough, a huge, hairy, scruffy creature appears and threatens to eat them up until quick-thinking Molly suggests a day out instead. A whistle stop tour of London follows, and an exciting time is had by all even though Dad – sorry, the Beast – manages to disgrace himself everywhere and particularly pungently just as the queen passes by! Kids will very much enjoy this and it’s great to see the rowdier side of dads being celebrated for once. ~ Andrea Reece
