This child’s-eye view of the father-child relationship is very touching and will strike a chord in all families. Little elephant looks up to Dad – literally – and each spread describes something Dad can do because he’s bigger, whether that’s making dinner, going to the shops or just hanging up their coats. The simple rhyming text, supported by warm, cosy illustrations, captures the sense of love between parent and child, and on one of the final spreads Dad kneels down low so that little elephant can hug and hold him tight, ‘when he is short and I’m his height’. ~ Andrea Reece
