Children can really get involved in this storybook with a twist, which invites them to add to the illustrations on every page. With prompts to draw in wacky details – just ‘what does a mega garlic burp look like ?’ - facial expressions and even textures, there’s something for those with more developed artistic skills as well as kids who just like to doodle. Then there’s the hilariously zany story to enjoy: a truly epic clash between rival clans of robots and gorillas !
Mega Mash-Up: Robots v Gorillas in the Desert Synopsis
Deep in the desert, Gorillas trade the oil under their city for bananas grown by hi-tech Robots. But after Gadget the Great accidentally sends 10,000 volts of electricity up King Well-Hairy's nose, the robots and gorillas decide to sort things out once and for all: whoever wins will have all the oil and all the bananas. Which side will manage to avoid the garlic burp-breath sand slugs? Who will be deceived by the banana sundae mirages? And when will they realise that they forgot to agree on a finishing line?
'I like the book because there's lots of things to do and it's a special book for you to do the colouring and it's a story book and it's funny. Ha! Ha!' - Edward, aged 6 and a half

About Nikalas Catlow, Tim Wesson
Nikalas Catlow and Tim Wesson are the newly-formed author and illustrator team behind the Mega Mash-Up series. They write and draw together and laugh a lot. They met when Nikalas, who was working as a designer, thought Tim would be a good illustrator for some books he was working on ... and then found out that they lived across the road from one another in Brockley, in South East London. A pint led to an idea and an idea led to a partnership. With a background combining design, illustration and animation, Nikalas and Tim are developing their own brand of anarchic boysy humour and plan to take over the children's book universe.
