This is a rousing non-stop action adventure against the forces of darkness. Alfred is brought face to face with an arch enemy whilst at the same time he questions who he can really trust to help him defeat the enemy. This is the third Alfred Kropp novel. The first, The Extraordinary Adventures of Alfred Kropp is equally gripping as is Alfred Kropp II: The Seal of Solomon.
There are some things deep within the belly of the earth that should never be disturbed. Which is exactly why Alfred wants to stay at home. When a vision foretells a cataclysmic battle between the 'Sons of Light' and the 'Sons of Darkness', Alfred is called into action.
Whoever finds the fabled 13th skull of Merlin, will have in his hands the power to usher in a new Dark Age and the Apocalypse. And so the race is on to find the skull, which rests at the bottom of an abyss called Krubera - a place so terrifying it nearly drove Alfred's mentor, Op-Nine, insane.
Rick is a native Floridian and a graduate of Roosevelt University in Chicago. He earned a B.A. in English which he put to use as a field officer for the Internal Revenue Service. Inspired and encouraged by his wife, he decided his degree might also be useful in writing books and in 2004 he began writing full-time.
Since then he has launched two critically acclaimed series: The Extraordinary Adventures of Alfred Kropp, for young readers, and The Highly Effective Detective, for adults. Both books are set in Knoxville, Tennessee, where Rick lived for ten years before returning to Florida.
Rick lives with his wife, Sandy, his three sons, two dogs and one lizard.
