Araminta Spook is just like most girls of 7 plus – she loves bats, ghosts, werewolves, vampires and the like – so if you haven’t yet tried her out then Frognapped is just as good as her earlier exploits in Haunted House. Plenty of imaginative characters, twists and turns in the plot that are both funny and gripping. A real page-turner.
When something’s amiss in the Spook household, there’s usually only one suspect — Araminta. But she swears she had nothing to do with the disappearance of Barry Wizzard’s frogs, and is determined to find them (and the true culprit). But it’s not going to be easy. These aren’t just any old frogs, and are in short supply. Araminta must deal with a crazy Old Morris, a dangerous shark, and a demanding — if somewhat unexpected — audience if she’s going to find the frogs and perhaps even steal the show, too.
‘Warm, funny and humane, Sage takes care with the destiny of even her smallest characters, and is a real discovery’ The Times
‘Her yarn scoots along like a dragon-boat with the wind in its sails’ Sunday Times
