LoveReading4Kids Says
Emma Thompson, Oscar-winning actress and screen writer, is a long time admirer of Beatrix Potter's tales and this title is inspired by the original title. Thompson has a talent for creating engaging narratives with a dry humour similar to Potter's own and is the perfect choice of author for this new Peter Rabbit tale, published 110 years after the original. Emma was inspired to set the tale in Scotland by her knowledge of Beatrix's childhood holidays there.

About
The Further Tale of Peter Rabbit Synopsis
In a follow-up to the cherished original Tale of Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter, The Further Tale of Peter Rabbit sees Peter on the quest for adventure.
Sneaking into Mr McGregor's garden to steal a lettuce, the naughty little rabbit finds himself in a picnic basket heading all the way to Scotland, where he meets the large but kindly Finlay McBurney, a distant cousin. Far away from his cousin, Benjamin Bunny, and the Lake District setting of Beatrix Potter's classic tale, Peter Rabbit gets all the adventure he was looking for as he encounters a giant radish and even takes part in the Highland Games.
Accompanied by a story CD, narrated by Emma herself, this wonderfully whimsical tale is perfect for Peter Rabbit fans old and new.
And Emma Thompson has now penned a second Peter Rabbit adventure - The Christmas Tale of Peter Rabbit - click here to read more!

About Emma Thompson
Emma Thompson is an Oscar-winning screenwriter and actress and has starred in a range of films from Love Actually to Harry Potter, in which she plays the part of Sybill Trelawney. Emma Thompson won an Oscar in 1996 for the Best Adapted Screenplay for her adaptation of Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility, a film in which she also played the Oscar-nominated lead role opposite Hugh Grant.
Nanny McPhee: The Big Bang, published by Bloomsbury in March 2010, was Emma Thompson’s first novel for children. A wonderfully witty tale about the indomitable nanny of magical means which was also released as a film in which Emma played the title role.
Emma has also written two stories about Peter Rabbit - the first published in 2012, The Further Tale of Peter Rabbit and in 2013 The Christmas Tale of Peter Rabbit. Emma says.... I've always loved Beatrix Potter, as a child and then as a mother and all the years in-between as well. When Mr Rabbit invited me to write a further tale, I was more honoured than I can say. I hope I don't let him or his extraordinary creator down.
She lives in London and Argyll.
