July 2017 Debut of the Month Wolfie is no ordinary wolf, he has a secret: Wolfie likes baking. Because everyone knows wolves are meant to be growly, fierce and mean, he keeps his baking a secret, or tries to. But when his new neighbours, a trio of pigs, spot what’s going on they let the world know. Wolfie thinks everyone will laugh at him, or worse, but instead he becomes something of a celebrity, and everyone wants more of his recipes. Sweetly told, and full of good things, this is a gentle story about daring to accept who you are, and has a lovely positive message for all. Wolfie’s scone recipe is pretty yummy too! ~ Andrea Reece
Wolfie is supposed to be a big bad wolf. Unfortunately though, he's not very good at it - and worse yet, he has a terrible secret. Instead of gobbling up little pigs, scaring little girls and destroying houses, Wolfie dreams of sharing his baking recipes with the world. When the three (very unkind) little pigs reveal his secret, will anyone ever take Wolfie seriously again?
A story about being your true self no matter what, this stunning debut from Nicola Senior is a colourful take on an old favourite tale, and one sure to make you laugh as you root for a wonderful new hero. Filled with beautiful details and even a recipe, this is the perfect picture book for budding young bakers.
‘Wolfie is such a cracking baker…who would have thought it, a baking wolf!’ Sophie Thompson, winner of Celebrity Masterchef

About Nicola Senior
After finishing a Fine Art degree Nicola Senior trained to be a primary school teacher. Though getting messy with paint and PVA was to be recommended, story time was the highlight of every day and she saw how instinctively children responded to beautiful pictures and wonderful stories. Wanting to get in on the act she got serious about writing and illustrating herself and now concentrates full time on these lovely pursuits. Wolfie's Secret is her first book.
