LoveReading4Kids Says
This is a tale of beasts and beauty, man, magic and ...horror told
through words and graphic novel images. It’s Stone Age horror from the
DFC Library.
Visually powerful and with a text that is equally compelling and ferocious, this is an amazing stone-age horror story told as a gripping graphic novel. Set in a dark past where violence from man and nature alike rules, Poika, a young boy just growing into a man, must learn to take his part. Full of mystery, magic and threat interspersed by rare moments of compassion, this is a gripping read. Mezolith originally appeared in the hugely respected DFC, which sadly through no fault of its own has sadly ceased. Other titles that have previously featured in the DFC include, The Spider Moon and Good Dog, Bad Dog.

Ben Haggarty, the author of MeZolith says:
MeZolith is the result of
a unique collaboration between an illustrator, Adam Brockbank, and
myself, a performance storyteller. We had long wanted to work together
and the DFC presented us with an opportunity to create an exciting,
full-blooded, Stone Age horror story for older children. It was
conceived as a graphic novel that could be serialised in action filled,
5 page episodes. Based on careful research, MeZolith is a conjectural
reconstruction of the lives of a small tribal group, living about
10,000 years ago, on the western shores of the North Sea basin, (just
above the long-flooded region which geographers have named Doggerland).
We follow a dramatic year in the life of Poika, a boy on the cusp of
adulthood.
