This 'hebrew and Chaldee Vocabulary - which every word explained in the voluminous Lexicons of Gesenius and Fuerst, with the exception of the proper names of persons and places - is the result of a conviction long entertained that the study of the Original Scriptures can be rendered much more easy as well as certain, 23, going at once to the root of the matter, discarding all mere theoretic meamngs, and giving only (or at least chie?y) those which the most direct etymology, and most common was loquendi, indicate and require, in as practical, concise, and economic a form as possible.
