"Terrifically funny superhero adventure packed full of surprises (and pandas)"
If you know your way round a good superhero story, you’ll love this new offering from the bestselling duo behind Kid Normal and The Great Dream Robbery.
Eleven-year-old Sonny Nelson is a huge fan of Doctor Extraordinary, resident superhero in his home Paragon City. Sonny never gets bored of the Doc’s quips or the way he constantly thwarts the plans of arch villain Captain Chaos and her evil creations. Sonny is such a fan in fact, that when Doctor Extraordinary is blown up inside one of Captain Chaos’s giant robots, he’s the only one who can see the doctor’s ghost. Just as well too, because when Captain Chaos’ evil sidekick Anna Podium, aka PANDAmonium, sets out to destroy Paragon City with a giant Giant Panda robot, Sonny and Doctor Extraordinary need to save the day.
The story is full of excitement – it’s a superhero story after all – but the authors have great fun playing with superhero story conventions and it’s also extremely funny. When it turns out too that not just Sonny but everyone in Paragon City can take on the mantle of superhero well, endings don’t come much more satisfying. It’s a super superhero story in fact, and one to recommend to fans of other classics of the genre by David Solomons and Danny Wallace.

I really enjoyed reading this book because it's an exciting book that took me on a superhero adventure. I felt like I was there in the book, as a civilian.
I really enjoyed reading this book because it's an exciting book that took me on a superhero adventure. I felt like I was there in the book, as a civilian, watching the evil pandas destroy the city. The pandas have taught me to never judge a book by it's cover, I was not expecting them to be who they turned out to be! My favourite character was Spot because she thinks really logically, like myself, and I liked how she eventually believed Sonny about Super Ghost. The book is so funny, Greg and Chris' narrating made me feel like I could really connect to them and they always wanted to make me feel happier. I enjoyed taking the author's oath but that's all I can tell you about that.......... Read Full Review
