Jack, a boy with a frozen touch, is taught magic in an enchanted forest
by magical creatures and trees. And it's up to Jack Frost to save this
magic from the jealous, stupid, goblins. Kazuno Kohara's distinctive lino-cut illustrations and limited colour palette
provide the perfect counterpart to her spare, witty storytelling in
this stylish new picture book - her first was Haunted House - with great child appeal.
If you lived in a house in the woods and all your friends were hibernating you'd probably hate winter, just like this little boy. But one day a strange spiky figure appears and transforms the boy's world into a winter wonderland! How long will the magic spell last?
Kazuno Kohara grew up in Japan and came to the UK as a student, where she studied for an MA in printmaking at Anglia Ruskin University, graduating in 2007. The Haunted House, Kazuno's first book, drew great critical acclaim for its distinctive lino-cut design and was voted one of the Best Illustrated Children's Books by the New York Times in 2008. Her second book, Jack Frost, was published in October 2009. Kazuno currently lives in Cambridge.
