Little Kitty is a superhero-in-training, she can leap and balance like a cat and shares their night vision and purr-fect sense of smell and hearing.
In this adventure, she returns to her local library after a day of booky fun to shut a window she remembers was left open. Someone – possibly with four feet – has been in and left the library in a bit of a mess, and they’ve taken some of Kitty’s friends’ favourite books too.
Kitty soon tracks down the culprit, it’s Cutlass the would-be pirate cat. She manages to convince him to take the books back and sign up for a library card! It’s another lively story in this popular series, perfect for youngsters just reading on their own.
Jenny Løvlie’s illustrations, in black and orange, are lovely too, adding to the sense of adventure and magic. A great story to share with all young shipmates!

About Paula Harrison
Paula Harrison began inventing stories and writing them down as a child. One of her best was about a magical land inhabited by talking bookworms. After taking an English degree, she became a primary school teacher and is now married with two children. She loves inspiring children's imaginations and believes that day-dreaming can be a really good use of your time (although she hasn't actually said that during a lesson). Over the years, she's shared many different authors' books with children, and now she can't wait to share her own.
Paula says: “The beginnings of the idea for The Rescue Princesses came when I watched my daughters playing. They were racing around the garden pretending to be Princesses who could go anywhere and do anything they liked. That set me thinking: in a world where anything is possible, Princesses won’t be sitting around on thrones. They’ll be out there, proving they’re better than the Princes!”
Paula Harrison is the author of Red Moon Rising (for older readers) and The Rescue Princesses (a younger series). She wanted to be a writer from a young age but spent many happy years being a primary school teacher first. She finds inspiration in lots of things from cloud shapes to snippets of conversation. She loves sandy beaches and eating popcorn. She lives with her husband and children in Buckinghamshire, which is nowhere near the sea. Whenever possible, she packs her family into the car and journeys far and wide to find a sandy beach where she can paddle in the waves.
