Here’s a magical new adventure for little superhero-in-training Kitty. It all begins with a moonlight dash to help a magician who’s lost her much-loved pet and assistant. Crystal the poodle vanished on cue during a magic trick, but failed to reappear, leaving the Great Marella distraught. Using her superpowers and with the help of her friends, Kitty is able to find Crystal and take her safely home. Along the way, Kitty makes new friends, including Dusty the theatre cat, who has an amazing singing voice, but is too shy to appear on stage.
In the final scene, everyone agrees that friendship is more important than fame anyway, and it’s certainly at the heart of the story which sparkles as ever in the hands of this talented writer and illustrator team. There are now lots of books to collect in this series and they are purrfect reading for newly confident readers.

About Paula Harrison
Paula Harrison began inventing stories and writing them down as a child. One of her best was about a magical land inhabited by talking bookworms. After taking an English degree, she became a primary school teacher and is now married with two children. She loves inspiring children's imaginations and believes that day-dreaming can be a really good use of your time (although she hasn't actually said that during a lesson). Over the years, she's shared many different authors' books with children, and now she can't wait to share her own.
Paula says: “The beginnings of the idea for The Rescue Princesses came when I watched my daughters playing. They were racing around the garden pretending to be Princesses who could go anywhere and do anything they liked. That set me thinking: in a world where anything is possible, Princesses won’t be sitting around on thrones. They’ll be out there, proving they’re better than the Princes!”
Paula Harrison is the author of Red Moon Rising (for older readers) and The Rescue Princesses (a younger series). She wanted to be a writer from a young age but spent many happy years being a primary school teacher first. She finds inspiration in lots of things from cloud shapes to snippets of conversation. She loves sandy beaches and eating popcorn. She lives with her husband and children in Buckinghamshire, which is nowhere near the sea. Whenever possible, she packs her family into the car and journeys far and wide to find a sandy beach where she can paddle in the waves.
