Helen Mortimer has had a career spanning more than 25 years and at a number of leading children’s books publishers including HarperCollins and Oxford University Press. She’s been lucky enough to work with such talented authors and illustrators as Lauren Child, Catherine Rayner and David Roberts. She now works as a freelance author and editor. Helen lives in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds and when not at her desk she loves to explore the footpaths and towpaths close to her home
Before the Maths Words for Little People series, Helen authored the Home learning educational series Big Words for Little People. Her first picture book Omar, the Bees and Me was published in 2021, followed by Enzo, the Swallows and Me and The Winter Wish in 2022
