LoveReading4Kids Says
Popular worldwide, accident prone Winnie the Witch is back for new adventures in this collection of stories that are perfect for developing readers aged 5+. Winnie is always up to take the plunge whether it is sharing her house with musical mice, magiking a snowman to do some abominable things, entertaining Gerry, the giant who lives next door, at a party or, in the title story, being flushed down the toilet and ending up trapped under the ocean by a merman. Luckily, whatever scrape Winnie gets into, Wilbur, her resourceful cat, usefully knows just the way to get her out.
Lovereading4kids comment: Four crazily funny stories featuring everyone's favourite witch, her big black cat, Wilbur, and a zany supporting cast of new characters. Korky Paul's exuberant black line illustrations complement the humour, slapstick, and moments of real drama that run through each story. Pure magic!
A small number of children were lucky enough to be invited to read and review Mini Winnie which is the first Winnie Young Fiction title. Here's a taster....'Each page of the book is crammed full of really cool jokes and Korky Paul’s illustrations are great, making me chuckle away for hours. It’s a fantastic book and I can’t wait to get hold of more of the series to see what Winnie gets up to.'....

Winnie Takes the Plunge Synopsis
Winnie and Wilbur are not afraid of taking the plunge. In 'Winnie's Mouse Organ' Winnie discovers that the little rodents that share her house have undiscovered musical talents; in 'Winnie's Snowball' Winnie unwittingly turns a snowman into the rather dangerous 'abominable' variety; in 'Winnie's Giant Party' Winnie and Wilbur help get everyone in a party mood; and in 'Winnie Takes the Plunge' Wilbur stages a bold underwater rescue to save Winnie from an evil Merman.
Four hilarious stories featuring Winnie and Wilbur and a zany supporting cast. Korky Paul's exuberant black line illustrations complement the humour, slapstick, and moments of real drama in each story. 'Funny, mischievous, silly, and exciting. Great stuff.' Giles Andrea, author of Sir Scallywag and the Golden Underpants.
The spellbinding new look of this bestselling series celebrates the wonderful relationship shared by Winnie and her cat, Wilbur. Since 1987 they have been delighting children and adults all over the world and more than 7 million books have been sold.
