In a Nutshell - A fishy tale of fame and friendship
Everyone's favourite Unicorn is back in another laugh-a-minute caper. There's a new show in town and the students of the New York School of Performing Arts are excited about the auditions for Splash it Up! especially Miranda the Mermaid. The role could have been written for her! Her friends Louie, Danny the Faun and Frank the Troll are thrilled when Miranda lands the starring role but even Louie's sunny optimism is challenged when Miranda turns diva and fame starts to affect their friendship. Fortunately for Miranda, Louie is a loyal friend and is determined to make Miranda's last night go with a splash!
Louie is an endearing character, bubbly and full of fun, and with short chapters, lots of action and funny illustrations on every page it is a great choice for newly independent readers. The story is peppered with puns that will keep the grown ups smiling too.
Readers looking for funny illustrated stories will also enjoy Pamela Butchart’s books, The Bolds by Julian Clary and David Roberts, and Philip Reeve and Sarah McIntyre’s adventure stories for young readers.
