Written by debut author Adelaide Godwin, it’s an odyssey of a feline kind, packed full of feline bravery, endurance and epic adventure that will delight early readers everywhere but equally a tremendous story for parents to share with their kids. The story centres around the trials and tribulations of a Spanish cat, Poohka. Scooped up and dumped by a garbage truck Poohka is left near dead, miles from his home. But with the help of other animals the plucky cat embarks on an incredible journey homeward, one that tests every ounce of his wit and strength and teaches him the true meaning of friendship. Landing On My Feet is a remarkable tale and if you like the sound of this animal adventure story you might also like to read the classic of all animal classics, The Incredible Journey by Shelia Burnford or Charlotte's Web by E B White..
Neil Jeffries, Managing Director of Digital Leaf....‘This is a bit of a departure for us, as we typically publish picture books. But once I started reading the story I couldn’t put it down and felt we just had to publish it.’
Landing On My Feet The Adventures of Poohka the Cat Synopsis
Poohka's a wild pussycat in a plush Spanish town. Life is good and the going is easy. Then one day he's swept up by a rubbish truck, crushed and dumped many miles from home. Now his life hangs in the balance. Assisted by his fellow creatures Poohka dusts himself off and begins the difficult journey homeward. An impatient owl, a heroic tree and a very brave, little mouse all help him as he attempts to hobble homeward on a broken leg. Can he survive the many dangers of the wild, the lurking vultures and a wicked witch, to make it back to his friends who he loves so much?
A delightful adventure of bravery, persistence and unusual friendships set atmospherically in southern Spain. Heather Hacking, Acclaimed Author-Illustrator, Artistic Cats
