Sometimes the second novel can be a disappointment particularly if the first is as good as Small Blue Thing was. But in Perfectly Reflected you'll find a novel that's perfectly formed and you'll want to devour it in a sitting if you get the chance. It's dramatic, surprising, all encompassing and very, very good. The finale of the trilogy - Scattering Like Light - is also now published.
The trilogy as a whole is a powerful sequence of interlinked romantic fantasy novels, following the relationship between a normal London teenaged girl who finds a bracelet in the Thames and, through it, an extraordinary connection with the hidden beings who died in the river, and must now consume human happiness to exist.
Kirsty Stansfield from publisher Nosy Crow says of Perfectly Reflected, “Such a great book to work on! Tense, dramatic and emotional, you never know what the next page will bring…”
This is the second book in the Small Blue thing trilogy. Still recovering from her earlier brush with death, Alex's source of strength and comfort is Callum, still locked in a sad half-life after drowing in the river Fleet that flows into the Thames. And she needs all the strength and comfort she can get: someone is out to make her life a misery, and someone is out to get hold of the extraordinary bracelet that enables her to communicate with Callum.
“this is a thrilling sequel…I sat down with the intention of leisurely reading this book over a few days but this did not happen. From the first paragraph I was completely hooked and I did not put the book down until I had finished the last page. …I would strongly recommend this book and its prequel. They are easy to read and fast paced with a really original idea.” - MigMag, Perfectly Reflected
