A touching story about caring and developing an unusual friendship. When Milo finds an egg and hears it breathing, he determines to look after it. Milo and egg have some wonderful adventures together, learning skills from each other. When Milo wakes one morning and finds the egg broken he is sure he has lost his best friend. But, he is in for a surprise! Milo now has a new – if rather scary! – friend to play with. Lovely scenes of play bring this story to life. An exceptionally talented illustrator, this is rebecca’s first foray into writing and illustrating a children’s book. There are two other titles illustrated by Rebecca that have also just been published. They are Just Because and Cub’s First Winter.

Rebecca Elliott is hosting a fantastic exhibition of her work alongside
fellow children’s illustrator Cee Biscoe in October this year. The
exhibition will consist of a comfy reading corner with her books out
this year (Just Because , Milo’s Pet Egg and Cub’s First Winter)
along with exciting activities for children, including free colouring
sheets and readings. Rebecca will also be selling prints and signed
copies of her books. The exhibit runs at Gallery 24 in Sudbury,
Suffolk, from Friday 22nd October to Wednesday 27th October.

Waterstone's in The Arc Shopping Centre. Your toddlers will love it.

Milo's Pet Egg Synopsis
Milo discovers a pebble and soon they become friends. Together they roll, balance, float and just mess around, until they're exhausted and go to bed. About Rebecca Elliott
Always the eternal daydreamer and doodler Rebecca Elliott's school project from the age of six has in it the line “When I grow up I want to be a writer and an artist”. After a brief trip into a more serious life involving gaining a degree in Philosophy followed by an insanely dull office job Rebecca returned to her childhood career plans.
Since 2002 she has written and illustrated dozens of children’s picture books including, Cub’s First Winter, Naked Trevor , The Last Tiger, Milo’s Pet Egg and Zoo Girl which was nominated for the 2012 Kate Greenaway Medal. She has also written about her own children, one of whom has severe special needs, in her books Just Because and Sometimes which have been met with accolades from former children’s laureates Jacqueline Wilson and Michael Rosen, five star reviews and much media coverage from, amongst others, The Independent and Radio 2.
Rebecca also teaches adult courses on writing and illustrating children’s books, regularly visits schools and runs workshops for children at events including the Edinburgh Literary Festival.
She lives in Suffolk with her ‘inspirations’ - her husband Matthew, a history teacher, and three children, Clementine, Toby and Benjamin and continues to spend her days doodling and daydreaming.
