Bekka and her people know they must do all they can to prevent the disaster that may engulf them. But, can Bekka really outwit the fates? Bekka’s choices and the courage she shows as she battles on make a fascinating story.
Kate Brown, the author of Spider Moon, says: In creating Spider Moon, I wanted to make something that I would have liked to have read when I was younger. Being strongly influenced by the style of story-telling in cartoons and comics from my childhood, I set out to make something that had the chance to be enjoyed by young girls in particular, as, growing up, I found very few other girls who liked comics, and there were precious few titles around that catered to girls. Spider Moon tells the story of a young girl named Bekka, and her companions. In Bekka’s world, ancient legends tell that the sky will fall and crush the earth. The people must work together to change their fates and escape the doom that threatens them all. Slowly, however, Bekka begins to discover that all is not what it seems, as she is separated from her family and friends and thrown into a journey that will change her life.
They tell a prophecy of our homelands being crushed by a falling sky. That fate has been a shadow over our people ever since. The end has begun ...in my lifetime. Bekka and her people are facing the end of times. They must do all in their power to save themselves from the fate they believe is theirs. But destiny is like a tightly coiled snake. Which Bekka must unfurl without getting bitten ...
