A perfect companion to the holiday season. Written in the form of letters from a little boy called Michael who writes some terrifically witty notes to his new teacher to explain why he can be late getting back to school. The letters are wonderfully authentic and their content ranges from Everest to life on a rocket ship. Great food for the imagination!!!
A witty and authentic book of letters from imaginative pupil Michael to his new teacher. With Everest, alligators, pirates and rocket-ships, can Michael's letters from around the world to his new teacher, Miss Brooks, get him out of the beginning of term?
Amy Husband studied Graphic Arts at Liverpool School of Art, graduating in June 2006. Whilst there she developed a huge passion for children’s books and set her heart on establishing a career as a children’s illustrator.
Amy admires the work of illustrators like Babette Cole and Tony Ross and also takes inspiration from newer talents like Kate Leake and Neal Layton. Her work is fresh, colourful and spontaneous, incorporating elements of humour and fun, with a light-hearted take on life.
