Flippa the seal loves looking after her best friend, Patrick the polar bear, but Patrick feels funny. Flippa says he’s too big and too hairy to catch his own fish, can that be true? And what will happen to their friendship if Patrick CAN catch his own food?
Despite the icy setting this is a delightfully warm story about the nature of friendship and relying too much on others. It will be a great conversation starter for discissions about setting boundaries and healthy relationships. Goll’s bold illustrations charmingly bring the arctic setting to life, with northern lights glowing and plenty of cute arctic wildlife to discover young readers will enjoy each page.
Patrick and Flippa are best friends-they love watching clouds together. Every day, Flippa dives for their dinner and makes sure that Patrick's tummy is full of fish . . . so why does he always have that empty bear feeling?
Is it because Flippa's always in charge? The water might be icy, but this story is full of warmth and laughter.
Merle Goll’s illustrations bring extra humour and appeal to lovable, though flawed, characters. An important message about friendships and setting boundaries delivered with a light touch and lots of laughs.
