Chris Bradford is an expert at creating tense, high-action adventures and the setting for this one adds hugely to the drama.
Stella and her brother Ryan are on a family holiday in the Space Hotel, orbiting Earth. While Stella loves it, Ryan is bored and would rather play virtual reality games. When a trip to the old International Space Station, now a museum, goes wrong the two find themselves alone in space, with a proton storm only minutes away.
Can Stella’s knowledge of space and Ryan’s dexterity on VR games give them a chance of survival? You won’t find many adventure stories with this many near misses or threats to life, and they’re all strung together seamlessly in a story that – Barrington Stoke style – is accessible to all readers and totally unputdownable.

About
Stellar Synopsis
When disaster strikes on the International Space Station, Stella needs a whole galaxy of luck to return safely to Earth. Bestselling author Chris Bradford crafts Gravity for younger readers in this gripping outer-space thriller.
Stella is astounded by the stars. But her brother Ryan is bored with space already. Less than a week into their family holiday on the Space Hotel orbiting Earth, he's moaning that there's nothing to do.
Their parents suggest the two of them go on an excursion to the International Space Station Museum. But during the space walk, disaster strikes. A massive solar flare sends a deadly wave of electromagnetic radiation hurtling towards the Earth…
In the panic to return to the Space Hotel, Ryan's jet-pack malfunctions and Stella has to rescue him before he spirals off into deep space. With only minutes before the solar flare hits, they're forced to shield themselves inside the ISS.
The solar flare short-circuits its systems and causes the ISS to drift out of orbit. With all radio communications dead, Stella will need her knowledge of the stars and a whole galaxy of luck to return safely to Earth.
Gravity may help… but will they burn up on re-entry?

About Chris Bradford
Chris Bradford's best-selling books are published in over 25 languages and have garnered more than 30 children’s book award nominations, winning the Northern Ireland Book Award 2011, Hampshire Book Award 2014 and the Brilliant Book Award 2014. Young Samurai: The Way of the Warrior was deemed one of Puffin’s 70 Best Ever Books, alongside Treasure Island and Robin Hood.
Before becoming a full-time author, he was a professional musician (who once performed for HRH Queen Elizabeth II), a songwriter and music teacher. He has written five non-fiction books on music, including the critically acclaimed Heart & Soul (Sanctuary, 2005).
Chris Bradford lives an action packed life and is a self-confessed adrenaline junkie. He’s thrown himself over Victoria Falls on a bungee cord, out of an airplane in New Zealand and off a French mountain on a paraglider, but he’s always managed to land safely – something he learnt from his martial arts training.
Chris joined a judo club aged seven and since then he has trained in karate, kickboxing, samurai swordsmanship and has earned his black belt in Tai-jutsu, the fighting art of the ninja. Chris is a student of Sensei Akemi Solloway, who is the eldest daughter of an old samurai family, descended from the Karo of Iwatsuki Castle, near Tokyo.
Before writing the Young Samurai series, Chris was a professional musician and songwriter. He’s even performed for HRH Queen Elizabeth II (but suspects she found his band a bit noisy). Chris lives on the South Downs, England with his two sons.
