It stars Kit, a young gnorf (half gnome, half dwarf) who seizes the chance to change the way people see him when he gets the opportunity to take part in the Dungeon Runners competition. Everyone watches Dungeon Runners and its contestants become heroes. Kit will be one of the youngest and smallest, but he’s smart and determined – he just needs to find a team.

Against the odds, he recruits Sandy, an apprentice mage and Thorn, a young vampire (ulp!). Despite being written off by just about everyone, Triple Trouble prove that teamwork, determination and using your head can be a lot more effective than size and sheer brawn. In the dungeons of Grotville, they demonstrate that they’ve got everything it takes to be champions – and get their own back on nasty bully Beefy Breg into the bargain.

This will enthral young fantasy fans. Its large type, numerous black and white illustrations and action-packed adventure make it perfect for newly independent readers and book two can’t come soon enough.
