What a super summer read! Radiant with romance, family drama, sparkling dialogue and glorious golden oldies (I especially adored octogenarian artist, great aunt Odette), Tasha Harrison’s The Thing About Lemons is sweet, sunny and oh-so funny.
After making a massive mistake (kissing Jackson, her best friend’s handsome boyfriend), Ori is shipped off to France to stay with her estranged grandad Claude, a musician and lifelong ladies’ man she’s only met a few times in her life. Suffice to say, Ori’s not looking forward to it. Thankfully, though, Ori’s outlook brightens when they collect her force-of-nature great aunt Odette en route. And things become brighter still when they pick up a “quality fitbit” (Ori’s assessment) hitch-hiker, who turns out to be the grandson of Claude’s friends.
Just as things hot up with said fitbit while they cool down in a river, Jackson turns up with Ori’s close mate, Ravi. Cue a whole lot of romantic complications, alongside some big family revelations.
Brilliantly pitched for younger teenagers, with lots of LOL moments and relatable romantic dilemmas, The Thing About Lemons exudes gorgeously engaging wholesomeness, along with family secrets, newly-discovered deep connections, and the budding possibility of new love. C’est magnifique!

The Thing About Lemons Synopsis
Ori Reynolds has just made the biggest mistake of her life. One that's resulted in:
1) losing all but one of her friends,
2) feeling like the World's Most Terrible Person, and
3) having all her fun summer plans cancelled.
And, as if things couldn't get any worse, she now has no choice but to go on a road trip with her estranged grandad Claude to his home in the French countryside. Talk about life giving you lemons! However, while Ori scoffs at her mum's suggestion to make lemonade, her sour situation is about to turn significantly sweeter than she could ever have imagined...
The Thing About Lemons is the perfect summer read for fans of The Kissing Booth, To All The Boys I Loved Before and Sex Education.

About Tasha Harrison
Tasha Harrison is an author, copywriter and fiction editor, living in Brighton with her husband, children, and extremely greedy Labrador. When not at her laptop, she can be found in the local park, apologising to strangers for her dog’s antics and sheepishly offering them wet wipes. (Eco-friendly ones, of course.)
Tasha has been writing novels (initially adult comedy drama, more recently YA and MG) for 20 years. Her YA comedy drama The Reinvention of Rolo Rawlings was shortlisted for the Bath Children’s Novel Award 2017 and longlisted for the Mslexia Children’s Novel Competition 2018. Then her MG comedy drama Clementine Florentine was longlisted for the Bath Children’s Novel Award 2018.
