This is a superb little book for children telling them all about the planetary system. It is written at a great level for kids and it brilliantly illustrated in a manner that keeps their attention. The author writes in such a way that draws the kids into the book and involves them while teaching them a little science which hopefully will be the building blocks of an interest in science. The book itself is easy to read along with kids and brings the moons to life which is most enjoyable. As an adult, I learned quite a bit about the planets and their moons myself and really enjoyed the book. It is a book to consider buying for kids and I'm sure adult and kid will enjoy reading it together or individually. Time and money well spent if you buy the book.

This book is a joy to read and the pictures are delightful.
'The Moon Show' by Carmen Gloria is the author's third book in the Kid Astronomy series, coming after 'Thank You, Mercury' and 'Dear Pluto'. It contains information about a small selection of the moons in our solar system, whimsically revealed by our own moon. A summary of these facts is to be found at the end of the book. The book is prettily illustrated, the anthropomorphic moons telling us about their most important attributes one by one as they are introduced. Some also draw life lessons for us from those characteristics, such as Jupiter's Ganymede who says the biggest storms in life sometimes make us shine the brightest, and Neptune's Triton who tells us that our direction in life doesn't have to be the same as other's for us to be happy. This book is a joy to read and the pictures are delightful.... Read Full Review
A no-nonsense, child-friendly book that tells us about our most immediate planets and their moons.
A no-nonsense, child-friendly book that tells us about our most immediate planets and their moons. It is told in a very straightforward way that will appeal to young children. It is well planned in its delivery and has just enough detail for young readers. The illustrations are good, not cute, but then moons aren't cute! The earth's moon is the 'narrator' and introduces us to Saturn, Pluto, Uranus etc and their moons.... Read Full Review
A very cheeky little moon introduces us to the planets with their moons in our solar system in a child-friendly way, offering I feel just the right amount of information that a child can deal with.
I would highly recommend this bright and colourful non-fiction book which is aimed at primary school-aged children. A very cheeky little moon introduces us to the planets with their moons in our solar system in a child-friendly way, offering I feel just the right amount of information that a child can deal with. The artwork is very appealing and I thought the personification of the moons worked very well. I especially liked the idea of the moon approval office with its cute illustrations. The length of the book is perfect for young readers and there are questions at the end to bring it to a satisfactory close.... Read Full Review
