Eric Carle’s bright, bold, immediately recognisable illustrations are here put to very good use in a fun and stylish book to teach children how to tell the time. At 7 o’clock the Very Hungry Caterpillar wakes to have his breakfast – readers can turn the hands on the clock face that’s part of the book to 12 and 7 and they move with a satisfying click. Five more colourful spreads follow showing animals doing different things at different times of the day, until we reach 10 0’clock ‘when you’re asleep and the fireflies shine in the starlight’. Eric Carle’s illustrations will never lose their vibrancy and vitality and this is both beautiful and useful. ~ Andrea Reece

Praise for The Very Hungry Caterpillar
Every child should experience this wonderful, cumulative story, with its brightly coloured pictures of the tiny but greedy caterpillar that eats his way through one apple, two plums and three pears before turning into a beautiful butterfly. The board version stands up well to the inevitable poking of little fingers through the holes in the pages. Kirkus UK
