Leigh Hobbs was born in Melbourne on April 18, 1953, and grew up in Bairnsdale, a small country town in Victoria, Australia.
Leigh works in a wide range of mediums. He's been a cartoonist for 'The AGE' Newspaper and has created a ceramic 'Flinders Street Station' teapot based on a Melbourne landmark.
Leigh is also a critically acclaimed author and illustrator of children's books. He is best known for the character "Old Tom", which began as a series of four illustrated black-and-white junior novels.
