March 15 Book of the Month First concepts books don’t come more stylish than this. Aino-Maija Metsola is a Finnish designer, well known internationally for her iconic textile and ceramic designs. Her bold colours, geometric shapes and flat lines look fabulous here. Each spread is divided into blocks of images, themed by colour and often nature-inspired – fruits, vegetables, flowers, birds and animals – that invite you to touch them and trace the outlines. Sturdy flaps can be opened to reveal hidden surprises, while children are challenged too to spot the odd one out on each page, the pink elephant for example on a page of blue. A visual treat for children and adults alike. ~Andrea Reece
And there's a equally bright and bold companion book you might like to read - Counting.
Make learning fun with this stylish and tactile book of colours. Every page is themed by colour and filled with objects to see and say. Can you find the odd one out on every page? Lift the flaps to see if you were right - and discover a host of surprises along the way. Bold, eye-catching artwork and sturdy card lift-flaps throughout will make this a favourite with children and adults alike.
