Kids love to read.  We know it but sometimes it can be a little tricky enticing them with a good book and let's face it there are just so many to choose from that it can be hard to decide which will be best for you.  Well here at Lovereading4kids we love to make that job easier for both child and adult.  We do feel that while we can use our combined experience and passion to search through the many, many books out there to advise and guide you, it's also vital to glean opinions straight from the mouths of those the books are intended for. This is where our reader review panel comes in.  They are a vital part of Lovereading4kids, providing us with honest reviews and opinions which, alongside reviews from our editorial experts will also help you decide if this book is right for your intended reader.  What could be better than that? Well we feel it's time to reward them and so we are introducing our 'Reviewer of the Month' award.  Each month we will select a review from three different age ranges, (Young, Middle Grade & Teen/YA), subject to there being books in the categories, reviews that we feel have stood out in some way. I'm therefore delighted to introduce you to the reviewers of the month for August 2015.
YOUNG READERS CATEGORY
Sam (age 5) & Jack (age 3) Radford.   Brothers Sam and Jack reviewed the fantastic Kitchen Disco by Clare Foges. They absolutely loved the cheeky lemons and cool bananas and 'had great fun wriggling our hips and shaking our pips!’ They also sent in some fantastically fruity drawings which you can see along with their full review.  Both Jack and Sam showed us that sharing this great book not only encouraged a love of reading but also dancing AND drawing. We wanted to find out a little more about these young booklovers and so put a few book inspired questions to them. If the planet was under attack from a group of book stealing aliens, which would be the one book you would save? Sam would save his Colourful Book of Nursery Tales as he likes choosing stories from the different coloured sections. Jack would save The Incredible Book Eating Boy by Oliver Jeffers because he thinks it's really funny. If you could be one character from a book for a day who would you be? Sam would like to be Sir Scallywag from Sir Scallywag and the Deadly Dragon Poo by Giles Andrae because he's clever and funny. Sam thinks it's very funny when Daddy calls him Sir Scallywag. Jack would like to be the boy who eats books because it makes him laugh. What do you love most about being a book reviewer? Both boys get incredibly excited (as does mummy!) when a book arrives through the post. We all look forward to reading the book for bedtime stories and talking about our favourite parts.
MIDDLE GRADE CATEGORY Alexander (age 10) and Daniel (age 8) Bisland. The brothers have been reviewing books for Lovereading4kids for over two years now and love sharing reviews and books with their classmates too.  They often review individually but as they both enjoyed The Bolds -  by Julian Clary so much, they decided to submit a joint review.  We loved their newspaper headlines for THE DANIEL MAIL and THE ALEXANDER TIMES. Very inventive indeed. If the planet was under attack from a group of book stealing aliens, which would be the one book you would save? Daniel – The Bolds and Boy in Tights Alexander – The Sword of Kuromori and because I can't just choose one book, then I'd save The Bolds, Nathalie Buttface, Listen to the Moon, Galactic Hotdogs, Running Wild and The Accidental Prime Minister, which are all in my top ten favourite books! If you could be one character from a book for a day who would you be? Daniel – Willy Wonka because I want to make lots of chocolate and I love eating chocolate Alexander – Kenny Blackwood (The Sword of Kuromori) because I want to be a ninja. What do you love most about being a book reviewer? Daniel – Getting really good books to review and sharing my reviews at school. Alexander – Getting really good books to review and then seeing my review on the website.
TEEN/YA CATEGORY Celeste Phelan (age 14). Last but by no means least we come to Celeste who joined the panel last year. It is certainly hard choosing a winner from so many wonderful reviews but we felt that Celeste’s review -  was engaging and gave a wonderful balance of enticing us to want to read the story but not giving too much away.  It certainly left us wondering about the ‘mysterious, strange and sinister’ Fuzzy mud. What do you like most about reading? I like to read because it's really relaxing and I enjoy the mystery, adventure and excitement within books. Books are a door to another more fantastic world than our own which I undeniably want to be a part of. What is your favourite thing about being a book reviewer? My favourite thing about being a reviewer is the fact that we get amazing books in the post that no one else has read yet. I also enjoy writing the reviews which is a great way to improve my English skills. If you could be one character from a book for a day who would you be? If a could be a book character for a day I would be Emily from the Pegasus series by Kate O'Hearn because she has the most amazing adventures and fights the most horrible villains in Roman Myths.
We do hope you enjoyed meeting our August Reviewers of the Month.  Come back next month to find out who will be awarded the title for September 2015.
