As a primary school teacher, I know the sheer pleasure a book can bring to any child. I also know that for many children, a book is their chance to escape and be in a new world; sometimes that world is a much happier one than their own. Myself and my class looked through this list as inspiration for our next book (I buy the class at least one new book a term) and they simply could not choose! Last term, we read Pog and it resonated with several of my children and they all adored it so we highly recommend that (but have tissues at the ready!). Good luck to all entrants - what a fantastic prize!Karen V - 22nd November 2019
What an absolutely fantastic collection of books. Children and young people's publishing is sending out some amazing writers' work out into the world. Now we just need to get every school to have a well funded library so that all students' everywhere, no matter their circumstances can have free and easy access to choose from all the wonderful books. :)Jenny J - 22nd November 2019

How could I possibly choose just one book? Some of the stories have such powerful messages behind and/or can transport children to a whole new world! However, if I really had to chose just one then I would have to say Pog by Padraig Kenny as I have a couple of children who could benefit from the meaning behind this story...or Chris Riddell's Guardians of Magic, just because I have always loved sharing his books with my classes!Mary L - 19th November 2019
