Making mechanical animals, story telling, adventures and lots of fun are on offer at the Chagword Children's events. There are many famous authors coming. Andy Mulligan will be talking about his book, Trash, which has recently been released as a film. Geraldine McCaughrean will be taking kids from age four upwards on a magical fairy journey with Peter Pan. Local professional artist David Wyatt with his beautiful illustrations will accompany her.

When An Vrombaut comes to Chagword she's bringing along a dragon, a crocodile and a giraffe - or at least part of a giraffe. She hopes that the children will help her make the longest giraffe neck ever!

Author and illustrator of numerous fabulous picture books and the wonderful Phoenix comic, Nick Ward will be encouraging kids to get creative and make a creature which can rescue Charlie Small, his famous character.

Sandra Greaves's debut children's novel, a chilling contemporary ghost story set on Dartmoor, was nominated for the Waterstones Children's Book Prize 2014.Sandra will talk about the folklore and places that inspire her, and how the moor can send shivers up the spine.

Whether your kids love reading or need encouraging, there is a workshop for all ages, and interests, with lots of fun guaranteed. This is a very special opportunity, to engage, be inspired and enjoy the company of such amazing authors visiting Chagford.
