Armistice Day is on 11 November and is also known as Remembrance Day. It marks the day World War One ended, at 11am on the 11th day of the 11th month, in 1918.
This year the country, led by the Royal British Legion, is remembering and honouring Service - the act of defending and protecting the nation’s democratic freedoms and way of life.
Here we have collated a collection of children’s books for remembrance and war topics, across the key stages, including picture books, class readers and poetry.
Books are a fantastic way to spark interest and educate children about great historical moments. Enjoy these brilliant, thought-provoking fiction and non-fiction titles.
We also have resources for schools and home learning including lesson plans and assemblies here.
