“Is the spring coming?” he said. “What is it like?”…
“It is the sun shining on the rain and the rain falling on the sunshine…” ― Frances Hodgson Burnett, The Secret Garden
Spring arrives on March 20, and our gardens and parks are already waking up with the signs of spring. It's a great opportunity to give your bookshelves a spring clean!
We have a lovely collection of books that are perfect reading for the Easter holidays, with picture books, storybooks and non-fiction titles all with a springtime theme.

Spring is a symphony of life awakening. I adore the sight of cherry blossoms adorning branches like delicate pink confetti, signaling the season's arrival. The longer days bring a golden glow that fills my heart with warmth, while the gentle hum of bees reminds me of nature's incredible rhythm. There's nothing quite like the crisp scent of freshly cut grass and the sound of children laughing as they play outdoors. For me, spring is a celebration of renewal, joy, and the promise of brighter days ahead.Siobhan N - 2nd April 2025

My favourite signs of spring are the bulbs pushing through and bursting into colour. We have dainty dwarf pure yellow and knee high daffodills with orange trumpets greeting us in the garden as well as the purple blue muscari adding a lovely contrast. The violas and primroses in all their rainbow of colours brighten up even rainy spring days and the buds of leaves waking up in the sunshine promise warmer days are on there way.Alessia S - 31st March 2025
