Rebecca Upjohn has worked as an architectural photographer, sheep farmhand, bookshop helper, and more recently a writer and film producer for an independent short film for children. She raises her two boys, Harris and Emmett, with her husband, Don, dividing their time between urban life in Toronto and rural life in south-western New Hampshire. Harris' reaction to a homeless man asleep on a downtown pavement when he was four, inspired this book.
