Martin grew up in Berwick upon tweed and now lives with his wife Clare and daughters Jemima and Imogen in Newcastle. It was thanks to Jemima's disinterest in sleep that prompted Martin to write some of his stories while he sat outside her bedroom in the early hours waiting for her to drift off. One of which The Stuttering Coach was successfully published in 2022 a biological tale of the author himself. This is the second book in which we hear tales of Martin's father, who was the Butcher in his hometown. He hopes the book is a good reflection of the man and is well received by all who knew him and perhaps some who didn't.
