Karen is 63 years old and married with two children, Graeme and Claire, and has three step children. She has seven adorable grandchildren and over time she has made up various stories to tell them at bedtime, which is how Mr Magic Mouse came about. She has also written a non-fiction book which is yet to be published. Karen used to run her own exercise classes for several years in the '80s which were very popular. She also loves cooking and won the 'Britain's best soup' competition three years ago, which was televised on the Lorraine Kelly morning show. The soup, chicken, chorizo and paprika flavour, is still on sale in Waitrose stores all over the UK. She was lucky enough to meet many famous people at the time, whilst appearing on the television and radio, and also wrote a regular article on 'Karen's Kooking' in a local magazine for quite a while after winning the soup competition.
