Jill Hawes met Chippee, the chicken, inside a second grade classroom in Marietta, Georgia, where she worked as a literacy coach. As she watched Chippee grow and fall in love with the children, she knew she had to write her story. When Jill is not writing books, you can find her playing and singing in a garage band with her husband or just enjoying time with her two grown daughters and grandchildren.
