EMMALINE TOMALIN holds a Bachelor of Fine Art degree from the Durban University of Technology and briefly studied at the private school Kunstgut Academy of fine art in Berlin, Germany. She was born in Namibia and grew up in Durban where she now lives and works. Emmaline was inspired to write and illustrate Rocking Rosetta by the 1920's musician Sister Rosetta Tharpe as well as through her own passion for music and playing guitar.
