Diana Shaw spent her career teaching in primary schools. Now semi-retired, she divides her time between writing for children and reading to them in schools and bookshops up and down the country. Her first book, ÔÇÿSeptimus Smythe and the Spectre DetectorsÔÇÖ, was published in 2008 heralding the ÔÇÿCockleshore CastleÔÇÖ series of stories. She lives in Cheshire with her husband, Brian.
