Andrew Fusek Peters is an Anglo Czech poet, author,
anthologist, storyteller, didgeridoo player, broadcaster and creative
writing tutor. He has written and edited over 30 books for
Hodder-Wayland, Harper Collins, Ginn, Narefoot Books, Bloodaxe and
Evans. These books include Poems with attitude, Sadderday and Funday and May the Angels Be With Us.
Andrew
and his collaborator Polly Peters, an English and Drama teacher, are no
strangers to poetry and novels but this appears to be their first
venture into the "poetry novel".
Crash was published in 2004. Andrew and Polly both live in
Shropshire. The rural area influenced the novel. The story is set in
the countryside, and speeding is the main theme - trying to make young
people aware of the dangers of speed, and importance of road safety.
It's a long way from Enid Blyton.
