A brief biographical sketch of Franklin's life, followed by a collection (published in 1899) of 670 aphorisms, apothegms, or proverbs - short, pithy, instructive sayings - that were scattered throughout the pages of his Poor Richard's Almanack over its 25 years of once-a-year publication (1732-1758). Many of these sayings are familiar to all . . . 'a penny saved is a penny earned' . . . 'a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush' . . . but there are many more for you to laugh at, ponder over and learn from! Most were not invented by him, but these little gems of wisdom Franklin gleaned from all over the world are what made his Almanack so wildly popular, and himself a wealthy man. Mental Health Poetry For The Homies
The poetry in this audiobook was created to encourage people to value their mental health and peace of mind, no matter what problems may arise in life… “All of us We like pictures on a wall Open to the public for judgement Just make sure the frame is good enough So you will never fall or break Pay attention to the people Who’s mouths these opinions come from Before you make any adjustments To live a life of abundance Will require you to understand that the idea Of trying to fit in is redundant Take time to get to know you Don’t try to paint a perfect picture for others Out of desperation Do what you want with your canvas Every beautiful piece of art Is up for interpretation” -Love KB

Not just a collection of poems written in the same form and genre but a flowing and intimate portrait of love given and received, 'Sonnets From the Portuguese' is perhaps poet Elizabeth Barrett Browning's most well-known work. This intimate and evocative publication that transcends meter and rhyme is brought to unique life in this audiobook by Adriel Brandt The immense honesty, humble gratitude, and deep affection present in this work reveal the profundity not only of the poet's love, but also of the power of the love she received. Barrett Browning, who was disabled early in life by terrible migraines and spinal pain, reveals in her poems how love inspired her to embrace life—love, in her case, received from her husband for whom this collection was written. Whether you are loved most deeply by a partner, a relative, or a friend, may you know love that empowers you as Barrett Browning was empowered by the love she makes so tangible in these poems. Why is this male narrator reading intimate poems written by a woman for her spouse? In bringing this profound collection of poems to life, Adriel Brandt lends his soft baritone to perhaps the only place where the male voice is not aggressively dominant; indeed, where it is, maybe, too quiet: a place of humility, sensitivity, and reflective adoration. The longevity and ubiquity of this work speaks to its transcendence of its audience of one, to begin with, and when he revisited the work for this project, Brandt found that Barrett Browning gave voice to what had been uncommunicable in his own soul. What had been a woman's interior adulations, then love letters for a husband, then a publication read by millions, became the poetry of his own condition—once more, and always, personal: an intimate communication of profoundest love.

But first you must become aware of the Architect, learn the "spiritual dynamics" to consciously commune with and employ the Architect, and finally trust the Architect to manifest your desires as only it knows how! The Invisible Architect is a rare look into the inner world of acclaimed jazz musician/composer/author John Novello by the author himself and based on his discovery of an inner power we all possess but rarely knowingly use. The Invisible Architect is a captivating story of the aspirations and cognitions of the life of a now-famous jazz musician. Enlightening, inspirational, tragic, and miraculous, The Invisible Architect is a self-help program for designing your perfect life from within-the exact process of how our inner world creates our outer world. It was written because of a Divine unsolicited conversation he had with the Invisible Architect one day. And therein lies the genesis of this book. Spread the WORD...!' Hubble Space Telescope, The: The History and Legacy of the World’s Most Famous Telescope
On April 24, 1990, the Space Shuttle Discovery lifted off from Kennedy Space Center on the Space Shuttle Program’s 35th mission, but this was no ordinary mission. In its payload bay, Discovery was carrying the Hubble Space Telescope, with the objective of putting the telescope into orbit. By the time the Hubble telescope reached orbit, it was already the world’s most famous telescope, but it was also the most scorned. The telescope cost nearly $2 billion more to complete than anticipated, and to make matters worse, the first images it sent back were skewed. When the telescope immediately began transmitting defective images, NASA and the telescope became laughingstocks, literally. In the popular comedy movie Naked Gun 2 1/2, released in 1991, one scene in a café shows a picture of the telescope between pictures of the Titanic and the Hindenburg, implying it was a disaster. It would take three years to launch another space shuttle mission to fix the telescope, and that would be just the first of five servicing missions that have been performed in the 21 years the telescope has been in orbit. However, within about a year of fixing it, the telescope captured images of a major event in the solar system. In July 1994, the telescope provided a firsthand observation of a comet, Shoemaker-Levy 9, breaking apart and slamming into Jupiter. The comet broke into about two dozen pieces, some of them more than a mile wide, and hit the giant planet with the force of millions of atomic bombs. In addition to capturing the streaking comet breaking up and colliding with Jupiter, the telescope captured images of the impact marks that were left on Jupiter’s surface, helping astronomers study Jupiter’s atmosphere and debris left by major impacts.

Winner of the 2021 Orbis Pictus Award, Above the Rim is a poetic, exquisite telling of the life of an underrecognized athlete and a celebration of standing up for what is right.

Puffin Lives: Mahatma Gandhi: The Father of The Nation
'On his passport he was Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. The poet Rabindranath Tagore gave him the title Mahatma - the great soul- but he was rather uncomfortable with that. Nelson Mandela calls him a sacred warrior , others describe him as the the saint of the spinning wheel and we now declare him as our Father of the Nation . A courageous freedom fighter, a shrewd politician, a passionate social reformer and a staunch nationalist, Mahatma Gandhi was all this and much more. He was the most unusual leader this country has seen, and one of the most influential personalities whose name is synonymous with India s independence. He was the one who touched the lives of millions, whose ideals of satyagraha and ahimsa inspired great leaders of the world, and who could make the entire country come to a halt by going on a fast. Through a vivid narrative, author Subhadra Sen Gupta recreates the life and legacy of this phenomenal leader to portray the man beneath the simple handspun clothes, who ate saltless vegetables and bitter neem chutney; who greeted kings and paupers alike; who walked 240 miles at the age of sixty to break the Salt Law; and whose entire life was dedicated to truth and to peace. Even today as we read inspirational accounts of Gandhiji s life and talk of gandhigiri, we know that his ideals are alive and relevant to today s generation.
