"This audio adventure story tells how Donkey Ollie, Ruthie, Jehu, Alondra, Abner and Elizabeth attempt to deliver the last seven letters of John to the seven churches of Revelation - Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea. Of course, they bring their African Lion friend Theopolis and Hannibal their elephant buddy as well. After all what is a circus without a lion or elephant? By masquerading as a traveling circus, they know they will be avoiding Roman interference. They secure boat transport in Egypt from Allondra's cousin Ramses the Pharoah. Unfortunately, they decide to take a bath in the Nile which almost turns deadly for the young elephant Muwanna who is rescued from the jaws of a crocodile with the help of the whole circus troop. Finally, they set out for cities located along the rocky Asian Coast accompanied by their faithful observant Seagull Smoothfeather.  As you might expect, this audio book generally follows the screenplay and illustrated comic book, with very few changes. The song lyrics are delightfully poetic and included. The language and content are easily understood. This Circus story is definitely aimed at families, with some clever plot twists and humor for adults as well. The audio book, expertly read by Sidney Stewart is squarely aimed at a child audience with a wonderfully paced cadence. The content of the story is an effective tribute to Brian Stewart's work on Donkey Ollie. This is the eighth story in a rather wonderful series, five already exist as animated films. In my opinion, this is by far the best. There are frequent mentions of subterfuge and danger and new friendships are forged as the ensemble travels from city to city, delivering the secret letters throughout the Roman occupied lands. The Letters of John make up the basis of the Book of Revelation. This is certainly an imaginative way to deliver the letters. I am sure the Apostle John would have been delighted with it."

Jake and Hooley

"Jake and Hooley is a fresh modern sequel to the popular 2018 animated film Jake and the Giants and the subsequent audio book that was released. Hooley is an orphaned giant who finds himself hungry, lost and alone near the Village Shi. His immense strength and ability as a lumberjack makes him popular with the Beavers and also with Jake who treats him like a long lost brother making sure he has food to eat and a wonderful place to sleep. There is plenty of building and lumbering for him to do and with his immense strength he does it quickly. However, things turn sour when he realizes that many in the Village Shi are frightened of him and want him to move away. He overhears and sneaks off without a word. The story has surprising twists and turns and continues the Jake and the Giants legacy quite well. The arrival of Conrad the giant and Nora a young giantess who is in love with Hooley create havoc in the Shi Village as they search about for their stolen treasure. The battle scenes and terror are unique and clever and ultimately satisfying. This is a wonderful audio adventure and captures the true spirit of the human heart. "The Shipwrecked audio story is based on the animated film by the same name, featuring the well loved children's character Donkey Ollie. Farmer John wants his children, Jehu and Elizabeth to take the sheep's wool to market. Donkey Ollie, Esau, Jeremy and Isa carry the wool in big baskets. It all goes well until a group of Samaritan Thieves steal the donkeys and leave the children to the jackals. They transport the stolen treasure only to be sold to an Italian wine merchant who sends them off to Italy from Caesarea across the Mediterranean Sea.
