Hatchet meets The Babysitters Club in this epic and thrilling survival story about pushing oneself to the limit in the face of a crisis. We were all alone, in a shaken and shattered house, in the dark. And I was in charge. Hannah Steele loves living on Pelling, a tiny island near Seattle. She's always felt totally safe there. So when she's asked to babysit after school one day, it's no big deal. Zoe and Oscar are her next-door neighbors, and Hannah just took a babysitting class, which she's pretty sure makes her an expert. She isn't even worried that she left her inhaler at home. Then the shaking begins. The terrifying earthquake only lasts four minutes, but it changes everything-damaging the house, knocking out the power, and making cell service nonexistent. Even worse, the ferry and the bridge connecting the kids to help-and their parents-are both blocked, which means they're stranded alone. And Hannah's in charge as things go from bad to worse.

Of all the things ten-year-old Cory Wilson expects to do when he moves to Midway Space Station, saving aliens from humans isn't one. An important conference is about to start at the station, not usually the sort of thing kids care about, not even when the conference is between humans and aliens, and half your family is alien. However, when bullies tease Cory, he ends up in a prohibited area where he overhears some men planning to plant a bomb at the conference. Because the terrorists hide their messages in computer games, no one believes Cory, not even his father, the station director. Kids at school think he’s crazy, some even think aliens should be bombed. The conference starts, the aliens have brought a very important person, and Cory's teacher, one of the terrorists, locks Cory in the classroom. Can he get out in time? If he does, will anyone listen?

Disillusioned with a dystopian society a young teenager takes the law into his own hands to avenge his soulmate. But at what price? When Nathan loses Anna — his vibrant, bursting-with-life soulmate, the one girl who completes him — to depression and despair following a vicious rape, he vows revenge against the trio of scumbags involved. Rather than waiting for a justice system he doesn’t believe in to act, he becomes Judge, Jury, Executioner. He hunts down the rapist and those who aided and abetted him hoping this will bring the Anna of old back to him. Instead, much to Nathan’s shock and pain, it has the opposite effect, driving her even further towards a dangerous precipice. Will true love be enough to set things right? One thing’s for sure: no matter what happens, true love is forever. Mitchell P. Jones presents the reader with Nathan’s cold, clear-eyed view of the world and all its faults, a place that hardly has room for love. But, in this world, it is love in the end that rises above all else, turning the coal of daily life into a sparkling diamond.

13 Short Bible Stories For Kids Book 2
Finally, the story is told of a boy who grew up to love science, however, when he had finished high school, his parents did not have any money to send him to college. The boy then decided to do some science experiment by himself during the time he was out. He got a clean bottle and filled it with clear water and then he added some blue coloring to the water. He noticed that the water had changed color. It was no more clear but slightly blue. Nothing he did could turn the blue colored water to something clear. Although it was not the full amount of blue coloring added, it was strong enough to infiltrate the clear and clean water in the bottle. The boy learned a science lesson that day. And this is how it is with us, humans. No amount of goodness we do in life can cover our sins or make us clean. The truth is only the blood of Jesus Christ can make us clean. It washes us white and allows us to become whiter than snow. This is a mystery, in that, how can someone be washed in the blood and become whiter than snow. But the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us so we become righteous and without sin. It is as though we had never sinned before in our life. Remember Jesus is the Lord of heaven and earth and is called the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. This is not a physical cleansing, but a spiritual one. And that is how we are washed, cleansed, and made free in Jesus. It does not matter what anyone tells us, or even where we may find ourselves in life. Remember that whosoever the Son (Jesus) sets free is free indeed (John 8:36).

Dragon Riders is an amazing adventure about three children caught up in a timeless war. Their lives are turned upside down by an attack on the monastery where they live. Their flight leads them into an encounter with a young dragon, which they save from certain death. Previously believing that dragons were solely part of mythology, they are rewarded with a flight on three full-grown dragons. The dragons leave them each with a bracelet, which shrink to fit and hence are unable to be removed. The war causes their paths to divide, and they encounter magic, the enemy, a variety of characters and eventual capture. Reunited through incarceration, they discover the secret of their dragon bracelets, calling on the dragons to rescue them. With the reappearance of the dragons, their involvement in the war increases as they seek to bring an end to the fighting. The characters in this story are delightful, and are brought to life with the things they say and the actions they take, rather than simply through description. The story is written in a lovely, simple style that children will find easy to follow. Similarly, the plot is quick and captivating and the dragons especially are awe-inspiring. Their descriptions are bound to keep young children on the edge of their seats.
