Created from the words of Megan McDonald and the illustrations of Peter H Reynolds, Judy Moody was created in 2000 (her birthday is 1 April). 10 years on we are celebrating the quirky, madcap and moody world of Judy and her brother Stink.
Megan McDonald wrote the first draft of Judy Moody in 1998 and it was 250 pages long – but by publication in 2000 it had slimmed down to a little and been brought to life visually with the illustrations of Peter Reynolds – but it took him 6 re-draws to get Judy and Stink just right. All this diligence paid off as the books were an instant hit and now number more than 10.
